People always look at me like I’m crazy when they find out that I used to be a banker. But I’ve always known I wasn’t meant to fit in. Even growing up in Nova Scotia, Canada, where my family’s been since the early 1700s, I knew I wasn’t meant to stay there and that there was something more for me.

Discovering and owning it isn’t always easy. Here’s how I found mine.
I help people get emotionally unstuck like a spiritual tow truck.
People always look at me like I’m crazy when they find out that I used to be a banker. But I’ve always known I wasn’t meant to fit in. Even growing up in Nova Scotia, Canada, where my family’s been since the early 1700s, I knew I wasn’t meant to stay there and that there was something more for me.
So after University, instead of following tradition, I applied for a graduate program on the other side of the country. Knowing that my choice would be unpopular, I decided while my parents were at work to book a flight, buy my luggage and order a bed all before they came home that night!
After completing my graduate program, I fell into banking where I met my husband. Like me, he was driven and career focused, so starting a family was put on the back burner. However, there was so much expectation, story and stagnant energy around motherhood in my family, for many generations, that I couldn’t even get pregnant when we began to try!
Then one weekend at a leadership bootcamp, I realized that the energy created by my fear of repeating the past, was stopping me from getting pregnant. And wouldn’t you know it, as soon as I allowed myself to change what I believed a mother ‘should’ be and do, I got pregnant.
becoming a mother changed everything
Raising two energetically gifted daughters was not something I anticipated. I remember visiting the zoo for the first time with our daughter when she turned to me and told me what one animal had said to another. Most parents would dismiss this kind of talk from their children, but the inner knowing I had come to trust told me that dismissing her story would disempower her. So instead, I asked questions. As the girls grew in their awareness of energy, I chose to expand my knowledge of energy so I could support them; for the longest time hiding behind their specialness. Yet, in helping them understand themselves and their gifts, I also began to understand mine.
The more I learned about energy, the more I felt trapped in the world of corporate banking. It wasn’t until my daughter told me, point blank, that I was a healer and igniter of souls, that I embraced my abilities and began to share my gift with others.

Before I knew it, clients were seeking me out to help them find the belonging and flow they’d been looking for. The more I honored their journeys by ensuring they felt seen and heard, the more they began to realize their abundance of choice. Witnessing their journeys, allowed me to let go of the resentment I had about being ‘trapped’ at the bank, be thankful for all my career had given to our family and showed me that I had as much choice as they did.
So, I practiced what I preached and trusted in the Universe to determine HOW I would break free from the trappings of being a corporate banker. Then, together with the Universe, I co-created an exit strategy that allowed me to smoothly transition into my new calling. Finally, giving me the opportunity to dedicate my life to what I was put on this earth to do: raise the vibration of the planet.
